All subsidy disbursements are subject to independent eligibility verification, technical inspection, and direct fund transfer by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) and TANGEDCO in accordance with prevailing government guidelines.
PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana Central Subsidy Slabs
Applicable for individual residential houses in Tamil Nadu with grid-connected rooftop systems.
1 kW System
Ideal for homes with bimonthly bills under ₹1,500 using basic appliances, fan, lighting, and TV.
2 kW System
Ideal for homes with 1 inverter AC, refrigerator, washing machine, and ₹2,500–₹4,000 bimonthly bill.
3 kW to 10 kW
Ideal for independent villas with 2+ ACs, geysers, or EV charging with ₹5,000+ bimonthly bill.
The 6-Step Subsidy & Net Metering Workflow
How the application moves from online registration to money in your bank account.
Portal Registration
Register on pmsuryaghar.gov.in selecting Tamil Nadu and TANGEDCO as your electricity distribution company (Discom) with your Consumer Number.
Technical Feasibility (TFA)
TANGEDCO inspects the local distribution transformer (DT) loading. Once capacity is approved, the portal issues Technical Feasibility Approval.
DCR Solar Installation
Agasthyaa Bharat Green Power installs MNRE-mandated Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) panels, certified on-grid inverter, and ACDB/DCDB protection.
Work Completion Report
We submit module serial numbers, test certificates, inverter specifications, and geo-tagged photographs to the National Portal.
TANGEDCO Net Meter
TANGEDCO section officers inspect the installation, program and seal the bi-directional net meter, and issue the Joint Commissioning Certificate (JCC).
DBT Subsidy Transfer
Within 30–45 days of JCC upload, the Central Government directly transfers the subsidy (up to ₹78,000) directly into your linked bank account.
Required Document Checklist
- Latest TANGEDCO Electricity Bill: Must show active service number with applicant’s name or family link.
- Aadhaar Card: Must be linked with an active mobile number for OTP verification on National Portal.
- Cancelled Cheque / Bank Passbook: Name must strictly match the electricity bill name for DBT deposit.
- Property Tax Receipt / Patta / Ownership Proof: Confirms authorization to install panels on the terrace.
- Passport Size Photo: Digital upload for beneficiary profile.
